Here's how we work, written in plain English. If anything here is unclear, ask your Tutor — questions are always welcome.

Passwords

  • Our Tutors can guide you through legitimate password-reset and account-recovery procedures.
  • Whenever reasonably possible, you enter your own passwords and authentication codes.
  • The Tech Tutors does not maintain customer password lists.

Account Recovery

  • Tutors may guide you through legitimate recovery procedures from providers such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and other services.
  • We will not bypass authentication or security protections.

Two-Factor Authentication

  • Tutors can explain two-factor authentication and assist with setup.
  • You retain control of authentication codes and recovery credentials.

Password Managers

  • Tutors can teach you how to use a password manager.
  • We never retain a customer's master password.

Data Transfers & Backups

  • Tutors can assist with legitimate transfers and backups.
  • No technology service can promise that data will never be lost. We'll explain what we're doing at each step.

Patient Portals

  • Tutors can teach you how to navigate eligible portals and the technology around them.
  • We do not interpret medical information or provide medical advice.

Shopping

  • Tutors can teach you how legitimate online shopping interfaces work.
  • You personally authorize purchases and final payment actions.

Social Media

  • Tutors can teach navigation, posting, photos, messaging features, privacy settings, and reporting or blocking.
  • Tutors do not impersonate customers.

Digital Safety

  • We provide education about common scams, suspicious communications, safer technology practices, and security settings.
  • We do not guarantee prevention of fraud, hacking, identity theft, or scams.
